Wald International – that post prominent of Japan’s so-called VIP tuners – has gained global notoriety for its distinctive body kit and custom wheel offerings for Mercedes-Benz luxury sedans, roadsters, crossovers and, yes, even vans. But Mercedes-Benz also offers a host of compact front-wheel-drive models, the oldest family of which (now on its third generation) is the A-Class; and Wald wasn’t about to leave the latest baby Benz hatchback untouched.

As part of Wald International’s well known Black Bison series, this new body kit for the current W176 A-Class features a full cadre of new parts, including front and rear bumpers (the former incorporating Wald’s now-signature LED running lights), side skirts, concentric exhaust tips, and a rear spoiler that sits atop the hatch. And in case the traditional understated monochrome treatment is too dull for your liking, Wald also offers the decidedly outgoing graphics package seen on this matte orange example.

The folks at Wald say these parts are designed to fit both regular A-Class models and the muscular A45 AMG. Of course, Mercedes-Benz doesn’t send any A-Classes here to the U.S., but we reckon that if this kit is well-received, similar packages for the CLA and GLA – both of which do come here – are likely to follow. And we doubt we’re alone in thinking a Black Bison CLA would look dynamite…
