Vorsteiner BMW i8 VR-E is an Evil Looking Eco Machine

The BMW i8 isn’t like other mid-engined sports cars, and that’s a lot of the reason why we like it. But we get that a lot of people don’t like the idea of piloting a stock i8; thankfully, so do tuners like Vorsteiner. Their take on Munich’s 2+2 plug-in hybrid exotic, the VR-E doesn’t stray terribly far from factory standard stylistically, but the front splitter, rear diffuser, side skirts and rear lip spoiler are indeed new pieces. So too are the three-piece forged wheels (also from Vorsteiner), and the whole blacked-out exterior treatment – which gets rid of the unmistakable BMW i division blue accents – creates a sinister vibe that completely belies the i8’s eco-minded nature. Yeah, we’re guessing range suffers with that dark exterior since you’ll be running the air conditioning longer, but we say it’s a small price to pay to look this rad.
