Whoa, whoa, whoa…hold on, timeout…back the truck up, Broseph. Didn’t Volkswagen already submit a concept car for the Vision Gran Turismo design festival and subsequent adding to the Gran Turismo 6 car inventory? Um, yes, it totally did. So why is Wolfsburg getting another bite of the apple? We’re not sure, but after looking at the stats, we don’t really care.

Check it out: The hood of this virtual machine – officially called the Volkswagen GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo, but nicknamed the VisionGTI – hides one of VW’s iconic super-narrow-angle VR6 engines, but this one features both FSI direct injection and turbocharging to produce 496 horsepower and 490 lb.-ft of torque. From there power is sent to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. Mash the accelerator (button on your PS3 controller) and this superheated hatch will hit 62 mph in 3.6 seconds and top out at 186 mph. Top it all off with an exterior that looks like a new seventh-gen GTI that’s been hitting the gym seven days a week for the last 15 months and you have an enticing virtual speed machine…a speed machine that’s available right now through the latest Gran Turismo 6 patch (1.18).
