Question: Do any of you miss the year 2013? The Lotus Formula 1 team certainly does. Yeah, they only won one race (the season opening Australian Grand Prix with Kimi Raikkonen), but they did finish fourth in the constructors championship, ahead of McLaren and Williams. This year, however, hasn’t gone quite as well: They’re currently eighth in the constructors’ standings with only this weekend’s Abu Dhabi finale yet to be run, ahead of only the now-defunct Marussia squad. Oof…

So the boys and girls from Enstone could definitely use something to brighten their spirits. We’re betting seeing one of their Renault-towed transporters take a flying leap over one of their old F1 cars to set a new Guinness World Record for tractor-trailer jump distance of 83 feet, 7 inches will do the trick. The stunt was designed to promote EMC, a technology and data management company that’s a Lotus team sponsor. Judging by how much stuff fell of the truck when it landed, though, it looks like that particular rig is ready for the scrap heap; it’s about time Pastor Maldonado let some other people contribute to it…
