VIDEO: Forza Horizon 2 is Getting Fast & Furious
The Fast and Furious movie franchise has spawned its fair share of video games but, as with most video games based on movie and TV properties, none of them were particularly memorable (not for the right reasons, anyway). That might be changing in about a month’s time (March 27th, to be exact), because that’s when Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious drops. But although this game uses the Forza Horizon 2 engine, its Southern Europe map and special variations of some of the car models, it’s actually a standalone Xbox 360 or Xbox One game; you don’t have to own or have played FH2 to be able to play this.
But what does playing it involve, exactly? Well, all that has been revealed so far is that you’ll be working for Tej Parker, a character who, as in the films, is played by Ludacris. You’ll be tasked with completing various driving challenges to procure vehicles for Dom Toretto and Company’s next mission, simultaneously unlocking them for use in free roam mode; whether that means you’ll be able to use them in your main FH2 career (if you have one) is unclear. What is clear, though, is that Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious will be absolutely free to download between March 27th and April 10th; after that, it will set you back $10, but if you grab it during the period that it’s a freebie, you can keep on playing it as long as you like at no cost. So really, other than some space on your Xbox 360 or Xbox One hard drive, you have nothing to lose!
