Comparing two or more cars against each other on paper is child’s play. If one car weighs less than another, has more power than another, or is both lighter and more powerful, it stands to reason that that vehicle is quicker than the heavier, less muscular one. Ah, but statistics don’t always make a smooth journey into the real world; witness this battle between the new C7-based Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and the Nissan GT-R Nismo.

These two extreme track machines don’t seem to be very evenly matched, as the Vette makes 50 more horsepower, weighs significantly less, and has more aggressive tires and carbon-ceramic brakes instead of the Nissan’s steelies. But, as Messrs.
