SR Auto Porsche 911 GT3 Rocks Retro Cool PUR Wheels

The new 991-based Porsche 911 GT3 is the car diehard Porsche nerds love to hate. On the one hand, it’s stupendously fast and capable, and is by far the most exciting naturally-aspirated 911 made today (and will be until GT3 RS deliveries begin). On the other hand, it only comes with the PDK dual-clutch transmission, electrically-boosted four-wheel steering and an engine that, while stupendous, isn’t the famed competition-bred “Mezger engine.” In other words, many Porschephiles would prefer the GT3 have more of a connection to its ancestors, something SR Auto Group must have had in mind when selecting the wheels for this particular black GT3.

You see, the Canadian customizing shop selected a set of 21” RS13 M2 two-piece wheels from PUR. The design of these center-lock rollers pay more than a bit of a tribute to the Fuchs alloys that were fitted to hordes of air-cooled Porsches right up until the arrival of the 964-series 911. The PUR wheels’ polished finish really pops against the car’s black paint and yellow calipers for the carbon-ceramic brakes. SR Auto doesn’t appear to have made any other changes or upgrades to this track-focused Fahrzeug, but in this case, we won’t hold it against them.
