Senner Tuning AG Introduces Performance Package for Audi A1 1.4 TSI
The diminiutive Audi A1 is a somewhat unlikely but not totally unexpected platform for aftermarket tuners. Senner Tuning AG has just introduced their customization package for the smallest vehicle in the Audi arsenal, which steers clear of styling tweaks in favor of a host of performance mods. The title “Lord of Four Rings” seems more apt for the A8 platform but we won’t argue with this oxymoron.
The Audi A1 has a 1.4-liter gasoline powered T-FSI engine with 200 Nm of torque. Not content with the 122 hp of stock output, this German tuning shop, led by Benno Senner, swaps in a BMC ITA Power Airbox, a new Chipbox ECU and a power converter to handle gas signal amplification. But the fun doesn’t stop there, oh no… A new stainless steel exhaust system including a silencer and 90mm tailpipes that meet EC-Approval are put in place. These upgrades push the outout rating to 156 hp and 250 Nm of torque.
To put all this power to the ground (surely we jest), Corniche Monza rims measuring 18 x 8 inches and finished with a black polish are wrapped in Hankook S1 Evo tires. The car is then dropped 35 mm by way of Senner sport springs.
The cost of all of these tweaks is a measly €4590 Euros (approximately $6250 USD) and the purchase price includes a warranty. If this package just isn’t enough for you, don’t fret dear friends. The folks from Ingelheim can also hook you up with coilovers dialied in with a custom height, rebound and compression settings. In addition, Senner Tuning offers lots of carbon-fiber bits, interior refinements as well as rear LED lights.
