Ruf Turbo Florio is a Boosted Targa Treat

While it’s super easy to dismiss Alois Ruf and the company bearing his family name as just another Porsche tuner, the German government doesn’t. The bureaucrats in Berlin officially recognize Ruf as a manufacturer unto itself, so comprehensive are its transformations of 911s and Boxsters. The latest P-car to receive such a transformation? The new 911 Targa.

Called the Turbo Florio (Targa, Florio, Targa Florio…get it?), this handsome sports machine receives a body kit that is tasteful in typical Ruf fashion, and doesn’t at all distract from the standard 991 Targa’s retro-cool power-retractable roof setup. But unlike the Targa, which is strictly AWD only, Ruf will build you a Turbo Florio with either rear- or all-wheel-drive, with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. As for power, there’s a 3.8L twin-turbo flat-six producing a prodigious 636 horsepower and 616 lb.-ft of torque, which Ruf says is enough to push this bad boy to 205 mph. Oh yes, we are in love…
