Rover Rage – Pissed Off Owner Takes On Land Rover Dealership

Rover Owner Vs. Dealership

We’ve all had difficulties with new car repairs at the dealership… I once had a brand new Oldsmobile Bravada that spent more time in the service shop than in my garage. I complained and petitioned constantly to get things fixed that just weren’t right. It almost felt like a full time job. Eventually, GM ended up giving me several months of car payments and taking care of the outstanding issues, but it wasn’t easy and took way too much effort. So, I feel the pain of this Range Rover Sport owner who obviously had to resort to drastic measures to get his ride fixed right.

You have to admit, it’s a pretty ingenious approach– Get big yellow and white lettering across the side of the truck to make it look like a “manager’s special offer’ but broadcast your frustration and your laundry list of the vehicle’s problems. And, park it directly in front of the Land Rover dealership on a public street.

Rover Owner Vs. Dealership

The man, whose identity was not disclosed, bought the Range Rover Sport for £50,000 from the Lookers Land Rover showroom in Colchester, Essex. According to the article, it appears his guerilla tactics worked. Mark Foster, a spokesperson for Jaguar Land Rover stated, “Land Rover operates a comprehensive warranty programme and a strong goodwill policy. All necessary repairs to this vehicle over 42,000 miles have been carried out under warranty. However, we are disappointed this customer’s experience has been unfortunate and as such we have made a goodwill offer towards helping him into a new vehicle.” Bam! Problem solved!
