This Custom Indian Scout Blazes a Bold Trail
When most people hear “iconic American motorcycle brands,” they think Harley-Davidson. That’s a great shame, because although the existence of Indian Motorcycles has been far more sporadic, it’s just as much a part of the red, white and blue’s two wheeling history as that Milwaukee outfit. And Roland Sands Design has created a rather radical custom that pays tribute to the nameplate’s rich history.
Created for the Wheels & Waves show in Biarritz, France, this scarlet stunner started life as an Indian Scout, but there’s precious little of the stock bike left. The water-cooled V-twin resides within a custom frame, and the redesigned suspension front and rear is damped by Öhlins TTX shocks. Custom handgrips, seat and fenders, Performance Machine brake calipers and a Roland Sands Design Track muffler are some of the other highlights. This is one Indian that won’t soon be forgotten.
