Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Double Flying Tourbillon is Quite Super

When you think of superheroes, you probably don’t spend much time contemplating what kind of watch (if any) they wear. The designers at Roger Dubuis appear to have taken that question into consideration when creating the timepiece you see here, the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Spider Double Flying Tourbillon, but they say it’s actually inspired by supercars. Regardless of the whom or what that served as their muse, this is an undeniably pretty piece.

The stylish 47 mm titanium case contains a skeletonized RD105SQ movement manufactured from 366 components and packing a 52-hour power reserve. Oh, and it also incorporates vibrant colors on various fasteners, hands at other bits to complement the red and orange on the case. But don’t get too smitten with this puppy: Just 28 copies of the Excalibur Spider Double Flying Tourbillon will be made, and will be priced at a princely $267,000 each. Yeah…for that kind of dough this watch might be better suited to a supervillain…
