For the last few weeks we’ve been checking up on the winner of the last nineWorld Rally Championshipdriver’s titles,Sebastien Loeb, and thePeugeot Sportteam as they prepared for an assault on thePikes Peak Hill Climb. Their weapon of choice? ThePeugeot208 T16, a tube-framed, mid-engine, turbocharged monster that shares little more than its name and shape with its production counterpart.
So, as you may or may not have heard, the legendaryPikes Peak Hill Climbwas this past weekend, meaning it was put up or shut up time forSLoeband company. So did they deliver the goods? Well, if you consider beating the previous record (which was set byRhys Millenlast year) by about a-minute-and-a-half, then yes, they did deliver. And it makesa certain morsel of Will Smith/Tommy Lee Jones fan fictionseem that much less fictional.
