Piecha Design Out-AMGs AMG with the GT RSR

The Mercedes-AMG GT R is easily one of the hottest new cars set to land in showrooms in the next six to eight months. However, if you don’t want to wait quite that long and/or you want an even more potent version of the latest dedicated sports car to wear the Three-Pointed Star, Piecha Design has some news that’s sure to brighten your day. Meet the Piecha Design Mercedes-AMG GT RSR.

It certainly looks meaner than a regular GT or GT S, thanks to the bold body kit that includes additional lips, a diffuser and a rear spoiler, plus the lowered ride height and staggered size (19” front, 20” rear) wheels. But it also is meaner by way of an ECU tune and sport exhaust system that gives the 4.0L twin-turbo V8 the ability to generate 604 horsepower and 620 lb.-ft of torque. The Piecha peeps say that extra thrust chucks the GT RSR to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds and onward to a 205 mph top speed. Honestly, with stats like those, AMG might be wise to release a “GT R+” or something like that to compete with tuners…
