Pagani Huayra BC is the Stuff of Dreams

The Pagani Huayra is one of the most extreme and exclusive new cars you can buy, with gullwing doors and a monumental 720 horsepower from a Mercedes-AMG 6.0L twin-turbo V12. So how do Horatio and crew improve upon it? By creating the Huayra BC, an even more extreme and exclusive supercar named for the late Benny Caiola, who was a close personal friend of Mr. Pagani and the guy who bought the very first Zonda. Revised aerodynamics (helmed by a fixed rear wing) provide more stick at high speed, while changes to the aforementioned Teutonic twelve hoist peak output to 789 horsepower to get it up to speed quicker. Weight is down by about 300 lbs. to 2,685, and there’s also a new 7-speed paddle-shifted single-clutch transmission (Why no dual-clutch? Pagani says it would be 40% heavier.), suspension components made from an aircraft-grade alloy called HiForg, and Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires (Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R track-only tires are optional.).

Want one? Of course you do. Well, that’s too bad, because of the 20 Huayra BCs that will be made, all 20 have been pre-sold. Of course, even if there were some still up for grabs, you’d need about $2.5 million to put one in your driveway. So yeah, your best chance of seeing one up close will probably be next month’s Geneva Motor Show.
