The other thing we love about time attack is the sheer variety and sophistication of the cars taking part in it. And time attack cars don’t get much more extreme than this heavily-modifiedMitsubishi Evo IX. With aCosworth-built2.2L turbocharged inline-fourunder the hood generating about850 horsepower, this monsterMitsubishiis able to lap Japan’s famousTsukuba Circuitin about54 seconds. For those who don’t know, that’s an obscenely quick time around that track. And the team that campaigns it hopes to turn an even more obscene time later this year, specifically a lap in the52 second bracket. Zounds.
