Novitec Tridente Maserati Quattroporte is VIP Veloce
Now that the Maserati Quattroporte is, at least in terms of physique, a proper competitor for the ubiquitous German full-size luxury sedan triumvirate (and the occasional interlopers from Jaguar, Lexus, Hyundai and Kia), you’d think that Maserati would be keen to siphon some sales from the high-horsepower versions of those luxobarges. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case at the moment, but Novitec Tridente (the Maser-modding branch of Novitec Rosso) has stepped into the breach with an upgrade package for Modena’s flagship luxury sedan. And while the exterior enhancements might not be anything to write home about (a carbon fiber splitter, side skirts and rear lip spoiler, plus Novitec’s own 22” wheels and coilover kit), the mechanical ones absolutely are; specifically, Novitec Tridente has managed to coax 476 horsepower and 472 lb.-ft of torque from the base 3.0L twin-turbo V6, and a pazzesco 605 horsepower and 605 lb.-ft from the optional 3.9L twin-turbo V8. No disrespect to Mr. Martin, but that is amore!
