Novitec Tridente Maserati Levante Hunkers Down and Powers Up [w/ Video]
While it doesn’t seem to be courting quite the same levels of consternation and controversy that the Porsche Cayenne did/still does, the Maserati Levante nevertheless represents a rather big break with tradition for the Modenese marque. And even if longtime Maserati customers don’t end up embracing the brand’s first SUV en masse, at least Novitec Tridente – the Maser-centric arm of the Novitec group – will have a plethora of parts to peddle to Levante owners who are looking for something more.
Outwardly visible upgrades include carbon fiber body parts like a front splitter and rear lip spoiler, as well as a 1” ride height drop and a stylish set of 22” wheels. Harder-to-spot tweaks hide under the hood, where Novitec Tridente offers tuning packages for both the gas and diesel turbocharged V6 engines, increasing their outputs to 494 horsepower and 322 horsepower, respectively. Numbers like those (plus a claimed 0-62 mph time of 4.8 seconds for the gas engine) should up the Levante’s appeal quite a bit, if you ask us.
