Novitec Rosso Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is a Solid First Pass
There is a short list of tuners that can pull off modification packages for Ferrari with the perfect blend of performance, style and grace. German tuner Novitec Rosso is at the top of that list. The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, the replacement for the outgoing 599,has just started delivery in Europe and Novitec has jumped all over it. Their first pass has boostedoutput to 763 horsepower and 518 lb-ft of torque, up from the standard 740 hp and 508 lb-ft of twist. Top speed has also been elevated to 214 mph, an increase of 3 mph.
While the engine internals have been untouched,Novitec introduces a newengine management system which remaps the fuel injection and ignition system accounting for this modest gain. The F12’s exhaust note can be adjusted by way of a Manettino switch on the steering wheel to open or close the butterfly valves. Redline has been upped to 8,900 rpm which allows the spacing of the gears of the 7 speed dual-clutch transmission to function more effectively.
Novitec drops the F12 up to 40 millimeters by way of sport springs but also offers a lift system for the front axle which can raise it 40 millimeters to handle speed bumps, ramps and other obstacles. The stock 20 inch wheels get replaced with a staggered setup featuring 21-inch wheels in front and 22-inch rims in back. Despite the increase in size, Novitec manages to reduce the weight of the wheels, offering some of the lightest of its kind, withfive double spokes and a polished outer flange. Other exterior mods come by way ofblack NOVITEC ROSSO side markers, which the company plans to complement with black tail lights at some point in the future.
Novitec offers a whole host of customization options for the interior including carbon-fiber paddle shifters, Alcantara and leather upholstery in a variety of colors. This tuning and individualization package is Novitec Rosso’s first effort with the F12 and they have more performance mods and a body kit in the works. Stay tuned…
