Novitec Rosso Ferrari California T is a Golden State of Tune
In addition to ushering in a new era of turbocharging at Ferrari, the California T has also managed to fix many of the criticisms leveled against the initial California. The styling has been refined to make it look more like a cohesive whole, while the chassis tuning – together with the new downsized twin-turbo V8 – delivers a driving experience that’s more worthy of the prancing horse insignia. Even so, there’s still room for improvement.
Fortunately, Novitec Rosso has become rather famous for improving Ferraris over the years, and the company’s new tuning package for the California T takes a multi-faceted approach. The exterior side of the equation features a front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, rear spoiler and various trim items (all made of carbon fiber), as well as a 1.4” lower ride height (though there’s also a hydraulic nose lift system to safely get over speed bumps and whatnot) and a sweet set of staggered size wheels (21” fronts, 22” rears).
Inside, Novitec Rosso is ready and willing to deck out the 2+2 convertible’s cabin in almost any colors and materials your little heart desires. And under the hood, the 3.9L twin-turbo V8 thinks with a tuned ECU and exhales through a stainless steel sport exhaust system. Novitec Rosso says the engine now makes 637 horsepower and 631 lb.-ft of torque, which is enough to push this fiddled-with Ferrari to a top speed of 201 mph. While we can’t speak for you, we can’t see many dog-small-enough-to-fit-in-a-purse-owning starlets pushing their California Ts to those speeds…
