If You Love It Put It on the ‘Ring: Porsche 918 Spyder Sets a Nürburgring Record [Video]
ThePorsche 918 Spyderhas been rocking thesupercarstatus quo boat ever since it debuted as a concept car three-and-a-half years ago. Prior to that car’s premiere, the very notion of aplug-in hybridanything fromPorsche(much less aCarrera GT-succeeding exotic) seemed preposterous. And yet, here it is, about to go into production for sale to the public (or at least the most financially secure members of the public).
However, there’s been one big nugget of info pertaining to the 918 Spyder that the world has been waiting on: ItsNürburgring Nordschleifelap time. Atsix minutes and 57 seconds, it’s faster around the Green Hell than any other street legal production car (street legal in the U.S., anyway).
