Le Belvedere is an Exemplary Bel Air Estate
In addition to being the father of smokeshow supermodel sister act Gigi and Bella Hadid, Mohamed Hadid is super, duper, Scrooge-McDuck-grade rich. The 68-year-old Jordanian-American of Palestinian descent started out by restoring and selling classic cars in the ritzy Georgetown area of Washington, D.C. (where his father Anwar worked for Voice of America), later parlaying the income from that venture into a nightclub in Greece and, in turn, a global hotel, resort and real estate development empire. And one of the products of that development arm, the Le Belvedere estate in the high-class Los Angeles neighborhood of Bel Air (Yes, the one of Fresh Prince fame…), is up for sale.
The French chateau inspired mansion packs 10 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, a grand ballroom, a professional-grade screening room, a 5,000-bottle(!) wine cellar and more into just a shade over 35,000 square-feet of living space. The 2.2 acre lot upon which the house sits has multiple fountains, a swan pond, an infinity pool, and superbly manicured gardens, plus sweeping views of L.A.’s Westside.
What would you say an estate this lavish is worth? Well, Hadid managed to get $50 million for it when he sold it in 2010, but the current owners are looking for an eye-popping $85 million. Oh, and don’t worry; the link to the listing below will still be here when you get back from buying a crapload of Powerball tickets…
