Kahn Design Defender Double Cab Pickup is a Haute Hauler

The Land Rover Defender, which is not long for this world in its current form, is available in a cornucopia of configurations. Perhaps the most useful configuration is the double cab pickup, which features four doors, seating for five and a small (but still handy) truck bed. And the late-model Land Rover (among other nameplates) experts at Kahn Design decided to use the double cab as the basis for their latest custom-tuned trucklet.

Kahn Design fitted a new front bumper, X-Lander grille, side steps and fender flares from its Chelsea Truck Company brand to create a crew cab pickup that’s more baller than butch. Climb aboard and the transformation is even more dramatic: Gone is the stock Defender cloth and most of the hard plastic, and in their place is leather, Alcantara and more leather adorning the dashboard, door panels, high-back front bucket seats and custom billet-aluminum-spoke steering wheel. There really isn’t anything about this Landy that hasn’t been made more opulent…other than the four-cylinder turbodiesel engine under the hood. Oh well, at least you have a nice place to wait while you chug your way up to highway (or motorway, as the case may be) speeds.
