HYT H1 Alinghi Sets Sail for Styletown
Swiss watchmaker HYT has made quite the name for itself in the industry, due in large part to its ingenious bellows system powering a liquid-filled ring that takes the place of hands for telling time. The firm has also gained notoriety for collaborating with the Alinghi Yacht Racing Team, and the two entities have gotten together to release a third incarnation of the HYT H1 Alinghi watch.
Limited to just 20 units and priced at about $65,000 a pop, this timepiece uses the aforementioned bellows and capillary system (with a black liquid) and teams it with a 48.8 mm titanium case, a red minute hand and power reserve indicator (HYT says the manually-wound movement has up to 65 hours worth of it.), and the Alinghi logo machined into the bezel at the 6 o’clock position. Throw in a heavy duty fabric strap and you have a recipe for a very appealing bit of kit.
