Hennessey VelociRaptor 6×6 is Here to Start the Party

It’s been more than 14 months since we first reported Hennessey was developing a wild 6×6 conversion for the second-gen Ford Raptor. Turns out the Texan tuning house needed most of that time to develop the parts and processes need to make the triple axle transformation and, now that the company has a fully-realized demonstrator in its fleet, we can confidently say it’s even more epic than we expected.

The tuning package for the 3.5L twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 ups the ante to 605 horsepower and 622 lb.-ft of torque, which Hennessey says will push this monster to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds. And a full Brembo brake package with calipers that have – obviously – six pistons each will help bring it back to a stop. However, it’s worth noting that that option will also add $22,000 to the $349,000 base price (Yes, it’s gone up since the original announcement.), which is actually more than the base MSRP for a Ferrari 812 Superfast. Of course, we can’t think of a single Ferrari road or race car ever made that can carry 1,000 lbs. of brick up a 300’ high sand dune so, really, it all comes down to what your priorities are…
