Harley Davidson Introduces New Softail Models for 2018
For people who love limited edition bikes, the all new 2018 Harley-Davidson lineup may be just up your alley. Celebrating its 115th anniversary, the motorcycle giant Harley-Davidson is introducing a lineup dubbed as the 2018 Softail lineup, which offers a lot of Wow factors for fans all over the globe. As experts who reviewed these new softened two wheeler beasts explained, the Softail models have resulted from extensive research and development initiative by the company. These motorcycles went through a rigorous ground-up design giving them a sophisticated and modern look while maintaining the quintessential beastly power of Harley Davidson.
Two enhancements
What does the new touring motorcycle lineup mean for us? Are there any big value adds? Well, as of now two things are quite clear. First of all, this new range of softail bikes is going to sport a more stylish and modern look. Yes, there have been several style enhancements as we can see with few models that revealed as of now. But style enhancements apart, the new range of motorcycles are also going to have a solid enhancement on the performance side.
As Many As Eight Different Softails
The all new 2018 Harley Davidson Softail range consists of eight models including the Fat Boy, Heritage Classic, Low Rider, Softail Slim, Deluxe, Breakout, Fat Bob, and Street Bob. Only three of the models, namely Low Rider, Fat Bob, and Street Bob were actually part of another range called Dyna lineup and the company decided to merge them with the upcoming ones.
What’s new?
These 2018 Softail lineup offers motorcycles with a new chassis, a whole new powerful suspension and revised styling. To add more spice to your motorcycling experience each one has a very distinct look which also allows a whole range of personalization with each model.
The new chassis is lighter than ever before and more rigid than all previous softails. Though outwardly it looks it might have a rigid ride, it comes loaded with powerful mono-shock rear suspension ensuring a smooth ride even on a bumpy or dirt covered road.
You must be already asking what about the need for Harley Davidson Accessories? To be precise, thanks to the new frame it has fewer component parts and you may not need accessories so often. The range is exceptionally lightweight and offers better response while motoring around.
Five Touring Bikes
Apart from the softails mentioned above Harley Davidson is also coming out with as many as five new models as part of a new touring bike range. These include the Street Glide Special, Road Glide Special, CVO Limited, CVO Street Glide, and CVO Road Glide.
As you may have noticed three of these bikes are actually CVO (Custom Vehicle Operations) and limited edition bikes. The best part of the story is, these models are coming with a powerful new 117-cubic inch (1,923cc) Milwaukee-Eight engine coupled up with 124 pound-feet of torque. To add more bells and whistles to them, all the CVO models of 2018 are going to be equipped with headsets and Bluetooth connectivity.
