This H. Moser & Cie Watch is a One-off Wonder

Telling time is a necessity in modern society, but it’s a necessity whose cost varies quite dramatically. You could walk to the local bank and look at the big digital clock/thermometer out front for free or, at the other end of the spectrum, you could buy this astonishing watch from H. Moser & Cie. The Venturer Tourbillon Dual Time Sapphire Blue Skeleton contains within its 41.5 mm sapphire case (Even the crown is made of the stuff!) the company’s skeletonized automatic caliber HMC 803. The movement’s nickel silver bridges sport a distinctive blue hue, while the tourbillon’s original Straumann double hairspring bestows upon it a power reserve of at least three days.

Want one of these wonder watches? Well, the one you see here is the only one being made, and H. Moser & Cie have priced it at a princely 1 million Swiss francs, or about $990,000. See, we told you it was about as far from “free” as a means of telling time can get…
