German Special Customs Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Stealth is Ravishing in Red

A year-and-a-quarter ago, tuner German Special Customs (GSC to its friends) revealed a tuning package for the second generation Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG. Succinctly (Unimaginatively?) dubbed “Stealth,” this bodacious body kit strongly suggests what a CLS63 AMG Black Series might look like. However, at the time, there was no mention of any performance upgrades.

But a lot has changed in 15 months. For one, GSC is showing another example of the Stealth in a different color. And for another, the company is ready to dish on additional power under that vented hood.

The body kit features all the same components as last year’s matte gray car: Wider front and rear fenders, angrier front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and the aforementioned vented hood. However, this satin red example adds a pylon-mounted carbon fiber rear wing. The result is this evolved Stealth looks even more like an AMG Black Series model.

Yet in terms of performance, this modded Mercedes goes far, far beyond any factory specification four-door. GSC fitted the 5.5L twin-turbo V8 with a pair of larger turbochargers, a new intercooler, a low restriction exhaust system and a reprogrammed ECU. Consequently, the engine now puts out a claimed 750 horsepower and a Kenworthian 848 lb.-ft of torque. Hooooo boy…

German Special Customs says this CLS63 AMG Stealth will blast to 62 mph from rest in 3.7 seconds, and max out at 217 mph. A KW coilover kit with adjustable dampers helps keep the car planted at those extra-legal speeds, and we’re guessing the new rear wing also helps in that regard. There’s still no word on how much the Stealth-ification process costs, but we’re betting it’s in the same ballpark as most other super sedan tuning packages.
