Geiger Cars Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT is a Hot Cocoa Hellcat Surrogate

Dodge SRT’s supercharged wonder twins – the Charger SRT Hellcat and Challenger SRT Hellcat – are all kinds of amazing. Unfortunately, unless the mad scientists toiling away deep within the SRT labs know something the rest of the world doesn’t, the Hellcat clan is destined to remain a family of two for the foreseeable future. That’s disappointing to most of us outsiders, but it seems the team at Geiger Cars is taking it harder than most, because they’ve created a monster Jeep to show us what we’re missing.

Okay, so this Jeep Grand Chocolate, er, Grand Cherokee SRT isn’t actually the recipient of a Hellcat swap. But it does have a Gen 3 Hemi V8 (in this case, the current SRT’s 6.4L engine) wearing a Roots-type supercharger. The 2.9L unit teams up with an intercooler, a cold-air intake pipe, upgraded fuel and ignition systems and a bespoke ECU tune to conjure 708 horsepower and 572 lb.-ft of torque. For those keeping score, that’s one horsepower more and 78 lb.-ft less than the 6.2L Hellcat. Even so, Geiger Cars says the extra spunk is sufficient to scoot this SUV to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds on its way to a 180 mph top speed.

And to make sure the GC’s chassis can handle all that surplus strength, Geiger Cars also offers sport springs, beefier anti-roll bars, and 22” alloy wheels wearing high performance tires. Oh, and they also offer vinyl wraps in the colors and patterns of your choosing but, honestly, what’s so bad about the matte brown demonstrated here? On second thought, we’d consider asking for a band of fake wood running down the middle…
