Frankfurt Motor Show 2009: HAMANN Ferrari California Tuning Program Unveiled
HAMANN Motorsport is beginning to look like a major OEM by making appearances at all the major auto shows with new offerings in tow. HAMANN is one of the most polished and upscale tuners in the marketplace and their fit and finish is absolutely spectacular. This year, at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, they unleashed their program for the new Ferrari California, which includes significant performance mods and some serious styling flavor.
The 4.3-liter normally aspirated Ferrari V8 gets a significant boost from 460 hp up to 552 hp, a 20% increase in engine output. A revised engine management system and a new sports exhaust system take credit for this feat. A serious aerodynamic kit is provided which includes a carbon fiber hood, a lift-reducing front spoiler, side skirts that ease airflow between both axles, a 3 part rear diffuser and a new rear wing with a small profile that adds to the car body design while offering significant contact pressure.
HAMANN serves up their own multi-part forged aluminum wheels called EDITION RACE featuring a black varnished rim star. The company recommends going with 9.0Jx21 inch wheels with 245/30ZR21 tires for the front and 12.5Jx21 rims with tires measuring 345/25ZR21 fitted at the back. And as always, when it comes to the interior you can pretty much request anything you want, from personalized floor mats to an expertly crafted complete leather interior. No price is listed as of yet for the HAMANN Ferrari California, but with these guys, if you have to ask, you can’t afford it.
