Fostla Wraps the MTM Audi RS6 Avant in Awesomeness
Out of all the not-for-America muscle wagons that have been built over the years, the most recent Audi RS6 Avant (chassis code C6) is quite possibly the one for which we pine the most. Having a Lamborghini-based V10 under the hood was whack-a-doodle enough, but the fact that said V10 was fitted with twin-turbochargers took it to a completely different level of crazy.
This is not to say, though, that the RS6 Avant is as crazy as it could be. There’s still some room for tuners to make it more muscular and more stylish. The car you see here, put together by Fostla Wraps, is both more muscular and more stylish, while still being perfectly shaped for the monthly Costco trip.
Since the company is called Fostla Wraps, this wild wagon has been cloaked in vinyl. The matte blue is a nice break from matte black, and the silver rocker stripes help break up the slab sides and provide places for the Fostla and MTM logos.
MTM? Yes, the Fostla folks haven’t just wrapped this wagon, darkened the headlight and taillight lenses and bolted on a set of black 20” wheels. They’ve also procured a plethora of power upgrade parts from the respected Audi tuner (including a trick stainless steel exhaust system), which together boost the 5.0L twin-turbo V10’s output from 571hp and 479 lb.-ft of torque to 759hp and 673 lb.-ft. Shifting duties are still handled by the stock 6-speed automatic transmission, which routes motive force to all four wheels via Audi’s quattro AWD system.
Naturally, all that extra power means you should have some extra stopping power. And this RS6 Avant definitely has that, with a set of 16.5”(!) rotors charged with hauling it down from speeds of up to 216 mph. Yes, 216 miles per hour. In a station wagon. If you’re anything like us, you are now giggling like a schoolgirl.
Of course, few schoolgirls can afford a stock RS6 Avant, much less one that’s been boosted into a family-friendly supercar harasser. Fostla Wraps hasn’t said what all the upgrades seen here will cost, but it does say that it will cost 2,500 euros (currently about $3,100) to apply one of its wraps to an RS6 Avant. That, of course, assumes you live in a nation where you can get your hands on a C6 RS6 Avant, which we do not. Not that we’re BITTER or anything about it…
