This game will bring me to buy an XBOX 360. My old roommate bought Forza 2, and I spent countless hours tuning numerous cars. Once the racing got too hard and was no longer fun, drifting was the name of the game.
I am so excited they are adding a drift mode, as I’m sure are many many gamers and car enthusiasts. If anyone can do it, Forza can. The car control and driving in this game is already (in my opinion) perfect. All it needed was a way to score those awesome slides, and maybe a bit more tire smoke to keep the eyes happy. For me, Gran Turismo always seems a bit too cold and scientific. Everything was so perfect, it was basically real, but without any physical feeling. When you took a corner 2mph too fast in GT, you spun and crashed. While that’s true to life, it lacked the physical inputs you get in a car that communicate you are about to spin. It took the “video gameness” out of the video game. Forza was 1 click down from it and was so fun. You could brake a tad late, do controlled slides, and toss the car around. Basically, you could have a ton of fun. I play driving games to do things that are not possible in my world, or sometimes the real world for that matter. I hope this game does the previous one justice. Awesome.
