Duke Dynamics Previews its Brooding BMW M4 Widebody Kit
The BMW M4 – the new name for the two-door M3 – isn’t even on sale yet, but the automotive aftermarket is already putting in 16-hour days and working weekends to have new parts and accessories ready for BMW’s latest junior supercoupe. But don’t assume the list of custom components will consist solely of things like big brake kits or larger capacity intercoolers. In fact, one company – Duke Dynamics of Vancouver, British Colombia – is already burning the midnight oil to get this wicked widebody kit ready.
In addition to the flared front and rear wheel arches, this killer kit (which Duke Dynamics is calling the MD4) features carbon fiber side skirt extensions, a new front bumper with carbon fiber splitter, rear bumper with carbon fiber diffuser, and a carbon fiber lip spoiler. And on the off chance that this body kit doesn’t make your F82 look meaner enough, Duke Dynamics also plans to offer a vented hood that incorporates the stock M4’s power bulge. Fill those fenders with the beefy wheels and tires of your choosing and suddenly you have an extra-muscular M car.
However, if there isn’t an M4 in your future, don’t despair: Duke Dynamics says the body kit and hood will also fit regular 4 Series coupes and convertibles. As for pricing information, there’s nothing to report just yet, but we’re guessing it will emerge when the MD4 kit makes its first in-the-composite public appearance at Bimmerfest at the Rose Bowl in May. And you can bet we’ll be there, making sure we don’t drool all over it.
