DD Customs Chevrolet Camaro SS is Murderous Muscle
Compared to most other cars on the road, the current Chevrolet Camaro is definitely distinctive. However, when matched up against each other, the range of flavors from the factory (not counting the ZL1 and Z/28) is fairly limited. Thankfully, there is a dizzying array of companies offering aftermarket parts for Chevy’s latest pony car, one of which is a German outfit called DD Customs.
Aside from the black paint and red rocker stripes, DD Customs adds a carbon fiber front splitter, a scooped carbon fiber hood, and a new rear diffuser with larger cutouts to accommodate the quartet of 4.5” exhaust tips that cap off the performance exhaust system. Additionally, the stock wheels and tires are replaced with a set of 22” Drewske STC-10 wheels colored to match the lower body stripes, and a set of KW coilovers provides a slightly lower stance.
As for engine enhancements, DD Customs installs a K&N air filter, high-flow catalytic converters and a set of 2” headers . These upgrades raise the 6.2L LS3 V8’s output from 426 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft of torque to 468 horsepower and 449 lb.-ft. Not huge bumps, to be sure, but sufficient to give this Camaro sharper performance to go with the sharper looks.
