I like BMWs, you like BMWs, we all like BMWs, right? Well, not everyone is necessarily a fan but don’t tell the folks at Bimmerfest 2009… It’s hard to fully appreciate what a strong grassroots following BMW has garnered over the years without looking out over an endless sea of custom and modified BMWs from diehard bimmerheads. The amount of time, energy and personalization put into these vehicles is extraordinary. The forecast was for rain, but it seemed like the gods had parted the skies to let the sun shine down on the lush Santa Barbara Polo Grounds. There was everything from 1968 BMW E3 to the brand new 2010 BMW Z4. Please check out the gallery below.
Overall, it was a fantastic event that was well planned and organized with plenty of staff on hand to guide the streams of incoming Bimmers to their correct areas. I also met some really cool people including Anthony Carbone from Madwhips.com and Carzi.com. Lots of sponsors were in attendance with a slew of sweet products and modified rides which included Horsepower Freaks, Nitto Tire, Falken Tire, Active Autowerke, Race Technologies/Brembo. All told, over 2000 cars and 6000 attendees were at Bimmerfest 2009.
