Benetti Fisker 50 is the Karma of Yachts

Henrik Fisker has become part of the tiny minority of car designers to gain celebrity status beyond the automotive scene, thanks in no small part to the eponymous company he set up (and later lost) to build the shapely plug-in hybrid luxury sedan called the Karma that he designed. But Mr. Fisker isn’t just interested in designing cars; he also likes designing boats, and his new project for Benetti, the Fisker 50, is a real stunner.

Measuring 50 meters (about 164 feet) long, this three-deck, six-cabin superyacht features a movie theater, a gym, a fire pit, and a hot tub, to name just a few of the highlights. And just as Henrik made it a point to make the Karma eco-sensitive, he’s made this yacht greener than average as well, with a hybrid propulsion system, decking made with reclaimed wood, solar panels artfully integrated into the exterior and a smart power management system. Of course, if you can afford to buy a Benetti Fisker 50, you’re probably not worried about the monetary cost of all the energy a yacht this lavish consumes.
