For some people, a yacht measuring 70’ in length is an underachiever. You know, something the servants would buy. But there’s a lot to like about these “small” luxury boats: They’re easier to maneuver, take up less dock space, you don’t have to walk as far to get from the bow to the stern…those are just some of the advantages. And when you’re talking about a 70 footer that’s as stylish as the latest offering from Azimut Yachts, the S7, you’ll forget about all those bigger vessels.
The exterior is rakish in a style befitting modern Italian industrial design, and the carbon fiber hull provides an unbeatable blend of strength, lightness and high tech cachet. Inside, there’s a handsome contemporary décor with lots of natural light available and accommodations for up to eight. And with a triple Volvo IPS setup aboard, Azimut Yachts say the S7 has enough strength to scoot to 35 knots wide open. Speedy, spacious and stylish? That’s a triple threat most massive motor yachts will be hard pressed to match.

I see it’s scheduled to come out in September. Any idea on the cost? Maybe $3M+? More appealing to me than a larger size, but I don’t currently have several million burning a hole in my pocket.
