Abt QS7 is a Sportier Audi Utility Vehicle

The Audi Q7 may be getting long-in-the-tooth (The second-generation model is expected to premiere at the Detroit show in January.), but it’s still a mighty fine large luxury SUV. A trio of 3.0L V6 engines (a turbocharged diesel and a supercharged gas-burner in both regular and high-output forms) dish out commendable doses of both grunt and efficiency, while the seven-seat interior (something its shorter Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg platform-mates lack) can coddle a complete clan with an enticing mix of Old World craftsmanship and high-tech toys.

However, the Audi experts at Abt found room for improvement with regard to the Q7’s exterior appearance. The QS7 kit, as Abt calls it, features new front and rear fascias, side skirts, and a funky rear spoiler with a wahoo in the middle to clear the stock high-mount third brake light. The engine exhales through a set of rectangular exhaust tips, and the vehicle rolls along atop a set of turbine-fan-like 22” Abt wheels. Prep school pick-up and drop-off lines will never be the same…
