ABT Audi S8 Power Kit Creates a Supercar for Doctors

Few phrases in the English language cause our ears to perk up like “factory-tuned full-size German sedan.” And few cars fitting that description get us more excited than the latest Audi S8, what with its handsome aluminum body, quattro AWD stick and punch-above-its-weight 4.0L twin-turbo V8. Seriously, what’s not to be madly in love with about a four-door land yacht that will blitz through the quarter-mile in the high-11s while air conditioning and massaging your keister?

Okay, maybe it could stand to be even faster. That’s where a new power kit from the Audi experts at ABT comes in to play. It elevates the bi-turbo V8’s output from 520 horsepower and 481 lb.-ft of torque to 632 horsepower and 575 lb.-ft. ABT doesn’t quote any acceleration times, but it has bumped the electronic speed limiter up from 155 mph to 174 mph.

And if you want to fly slightly less below the radar than a stock S8, ABT will sell you a set of the sweet 21” wheels seen here. A sports exhaust system and a new control module for the adaptive suspension that lets you reduce the ride height by as much as an inch are also available. No word how much all this extra hardware will cost, but we think you’d be wise to stay in (med) school, kids.
