Abt Audi R8 Spyder is a Sharper Sun Chaser

The new second generation Audi R8 Spyder is already one of the most capable convertibles on the market. But the Audi specialists at Abt are able to extract those last few morsels of performance and style from the mid-engine super roadster, and the result is predictably delicious.

The Abt peeps treated the exterior to pumped up new fascias front and rear, as well as side skirts and a set of the tuner’s High Performance ER-F wheels measuring 19” across (or their 20” GR rims). They also fitted a custom coilover suspension kit and upgraded front and rear anti-roll bars to help this most expensive of Audis grasp the ground even more firmly, which probably isn’t a bad thing when you consider Abt engine mods can bump the 5.2L V10’s output to 602 horsepower and 413 lb.-ft of torque. We suspect your hair stylist will be happy to see you acquire one of these beasts, since all that speed in an open-air package will likely lead you to visit more frequently. Then again, you could just get the same parts on an R8 Coupe…
