We’re not gonna lie: We’ve been in love with theAlfa Romeo 4Cever since it rolled onto the stage in concept form at theGeneva Motor Showin 2011. The very thought of a modern,mid-engine sports carcapable of battling the likes of theLotus Elise/ExigeandPorsche Caymanon their home turf while bringing along a heaping helping of Italian personality and zest sets our grown-up bits a-tingle. So it should come as no surprise that seeing how the Milanese marque has executed the definitive production version, with its striking styling, racecar-caliber carbon fiber tub construction and puny-but-peppyturbocharged 1.75L four-banger, makes us all kinds of, um, “excited.” Cleanup on Aisle Us, yo.
Drive’sChris Harriswas also rather amped up about the latest sportingAlfa, even before he attended the recent press launch for the car at the company’s famedBalocco proving grounds. So how does he feel about it now that he’s driven it on the street and the track? Sounds like the same as he did before, only more so. Hopefully we can score some seat time with the 4C for ourselves in the near future, and see if the tune we’re whistling is similar to the oneChrisis.
