2010 Lotus Evora Product Content and Packaging Released
Every now and then I feel compelled to quote homer Simpson. I can hear his voice in my head screaming “It’s here! It’s here! It’s here!” Well almost at least… The 2010 Lotus Evora will be delivered to European consumers in May of this year. Interestingly enough, the company was able to move from design to production in a tightly abbreviated 27 months. The bonded aluminum chassis are already starting to roll down the assembly line in Worcester UK with output being slowly increased to a target of 34 finished cars a week by July. Finishing touches are applied at the company’s factory in Hethel.
The Lotus Evora is a mid-engined 2+2 sports car that caters more to the general populace with everyday drivability being paramount. The vehicle still incorporates Lotus’ knack for providing stunning design and exceptional performance. The Evora is powered by a 3.5L V6 engine capable of 276 hp and 252 lb-ft of torque. 0-to-60 mph can be accomplished in around 5 seconds flat with a top speed of 160 mph. A 6 speed manual gearbox comes standard. The interior is nicely appointed with leather seats and high-tech features. Three packages are available that provide a wide range of upgrades.
The Tech pack includes a high-end Alpine head unit with the Blackbird Portable Satellite Navigation, a high powered amp and subwoofer, mobile bluetooth, iPod connectivity, cruise control, rear parking sensors, reversing camera and tire pressure monitoring system. The Premium pack has accent lighting, premium floor mats, additional seat color choices as well as leather trim and leather paneling throughout. The Sports pack include a sports mode with enhanced throttle response, sports traction control, engine oil cooler, a sports diffuser, titanium exhaust tailpipe, cross-drilled disc brakes and black painted brake calipers. The 2010 Lotus Evora will come with a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty and have a starting cost about $75,000.
