2009 Geneva Motor Show: Zagato Perana Z-One World Premier
It’s official…. The Zagato Perana Z-One that has been floating around in conceptual render form for months is now coming to fruition. The production version will be available to European buyers starting July of this year. Only 999 cars will be built per annum, and with a price tag of only 50,000 Euros, they are sure to be in short supply.
The car is a collaboration between Zagato, a Milanese coachbuilder who handled the styling, along with Perana Performance Group, a vehicle manufacturer out of South Africa. The Z-One is a two-seater coupe with a 50/50 weight distribution. Power comes from a front mounted 6.2L V8 engine driving power to the rear wheels. It’s actually a Corvette engine with a rated output of 440 hp controlled by a 6 speed manual transmission. Estimated 0-62 mph times put the Zagato Perana Z-One at sub 4 seconds.
