2009 Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 Specs Released
Aston Martin is releasing a track ready variant of it’s popular 4.7L V8 Vantage to the private consumer racing market. The previous offering, the N24 was a standout, pulling off a victory of the Nurburgring 24 Hours in 2008 as well as trumping many FIA GT4 races. The new Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 leverages this success.
The new GT4 benefits from an engine with a larger output, a race tuned ECU, suspension revisions, a steel rollcage, free flow exhaust and larger front brakes. The dry sump lubrication system stays unchanged as it is already quite adept at eliminating oil overflow during hard turns. A choice of transmissions is offered – either a standard six-speed manual or Sportshift with paddle shifters.
Inside the GT4, there are several essential race requirements. Recaro competition seats are installed with Sabelt’s 6 point push-button release safety harness. And a Lifeline Zero 360 gas extinguisher is within arms reach. The hand built Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 is price at around $145,000.
