Third Time’s the Charm: Kicherer Unveils Mercedes SLS AMG 63 Supersport GT
Tuners have been circling the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG like a shark going after chum. Not the first to bite nor the last, German tuning powerhouse Kircherer has taken a stab at Merc’s latest wunderkind and the result is rather spectacular. Dubbed the 63 Supersport GT, Kicherer has boosted engine output of the 6.2-liter V8 from 563hp up to 621hp with 516 lb-ft of torque.
Acceleration comes uber-quick with sprints from 0-62 mph taking just 3.5 seconds on the way to a top speed of 198 mph. And the sound is sure to be sick coming from the stainless steel damper sport exhaust system featuring dynamic pressure regulation and new tailpipes.
This is Kicherer’s third pass at delivering an aftermarket tuning program for the SLS AMG and with each iteration they step things up a notch. A revised carbon fiber aerodynamic kit offers a massive custom front griil with vertical fins, a front lip spoiler along with side air vents and a rear diffuser. And to make it even more sinister they cover the car in a matte black wrap.
A special height adjustable suspension kit from the folks at Stockach allows the car to be dropped up to 30mm and features a lift-up function. And the 63 Supersport GT wouldn’t be complete without some new shoes, so Kicherer delivers light alloy rims measuring 20 inches in front and 21 inches in back.
The carbon fiber motif continues in the interior which benefits from paneling on the doors, center stack, seats, door sill and even the good ole trunk. No word on pricing just yet on the Kicherer Mercedes-Benz SLS 63 AMG Supersport. Stay tuned…
