The “Toyobaru coupes” – Toyota 86, Toyota GT 86, Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ – have started reaching dealers worldwide, but they certainly aren’t staying at them very long as enthusiasts enthusiastically snap them up. Tidy proportions, a burbling boxer engine, meticulously tuned suspension and, oh by the way, rear-wheel drive will do that.
Of course, with so many car geeks moving into Toyobaru Town, it’s going to be hard to stand out from the crowd, at least for the next couple of months. But one company – Wald International – is already set to offer a body kit for the pushed-along sport coupes (or at least for the Toyota/Scion version). And, just going by the two renderings that have been released so far, it looks sharp.
If you’re in the market for a fuel-sipping urban runabout but want the premium features associated with a premium nameplate, you can’t do much better than the Lexus CT200h. This strikingly-styled five-door compact – which shares its hybrid drivetrain with the Toyota Prius – offers an enticing combination of remarkable efficiency, posh interior appointments and, perhaps most notably of all, not suggesting to the world that you’re a granola-huffing drum circle stalwart.
However, if you want to distance yourself further from the (stereo)typical hybrid buyer, there aren’t tons of options out there for personalizing your CT200h. Thankfully, that number of options has grown by one thanks to Japanese tuner Wald International. And it’s not just any option; it’s one honey of a body kit.
If it seems like just last week that we reported on Wald International releasing a Black Bison cosmetic package for a German super sedan (specifically the Porsche Panamera), that’s because it was just last week. So the Japanese automotive aesthetics enhancement specialists are taking a bit of a breather now, right? Um…no.
Instead of taking a powder, Wald International has rolled out a Black Bison package for the new C218-chassis Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG. But aside from the all-black-all-the-time exterior treatment, what else is included in the proverbial box? Read on and find out!
