Now that the McLaren P1 has been revealed to the public, the company’s “entry level” offering, the MP4-12C, is old news, right? Sure, it’s quite fast (just not P1 fast), and it’s available as a hardtop convertible, but it’s destined to live under the P1’s massive shadow. That’s just the lot in life of cars that aren’t their makers’ flagships.

Or is it? While the OEMs are understandably reluctant to build hotter versions of their junior models for fear of undermining the senior models’ sales and cachet, tuners are subject to no such encumbrances. With that in mind, Vorsteiner presents the MP4-12V.

American tuner Vorsteiner is working on their first tuning program for Lamborghini and it does not disappoint. The company has released a few teaser images of their Renazzo-V Concept, which will focus on 2009+ LP560-4 Gallardo and LP-570 Superleggera models. A lightweight aero package made out of carbon fiber kicks things off.

The kit provides a front bumper fascia with detachable splitters, side skirt blades, side skirt panels with rear vents, rear quarter panel vent covers, rear bumper with vent openings, rear diffuser with a center rear diffuser cooling vent and a fixed rear wing blade. New 19 and 20-inch forged alloy wheel options in either 1-piece or 3-piece will also be available.

  • Vorsteiner V-GT is a Porsche 991 Dressed for Success [w/ Video]

    Vorsteiner 2012 Porsche 911 8 640x426 Vorsteiner V GT is a Porsche 991 Dressed for Success [w/ Video]

The new Porsche 911 (known to Porsche employees and enthusiasts as the 991) is the biggest, fastest, most powerful and most civilized 911 yet. It’s also great looking, immediately recognizable as a 911 while still looking thoroughly modern. Needless to say, we’re quite fond of it.

What we aren’t fond of, though, is the fact that most 991 Carreras and Carrera 4s will end up looking basically the same. Yes, Porsche does offer some body kit and wheel options, but they really don’t do anything for us, visually speaking. Thankfully, aftermarket companies also offer additional wheel and cosmetic choices. And the newest aftermarket company to do so is Vorsteiner.

  • Vorsteiner Previews its Take on the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG

200965686268157492 640x392 Vorsteiner Previews its Take on the Mercedes Benz CLS63 AMG

Over the last 15 months, we’ve chronicled a trio of bad to the bone BMW M Cars from the tuning whiz kids at Vorsteiner (which, despite its Germanic sounding name, is based in Orange County, California, though it’s worth noting that parts of the county were settled by German immigrants in the late 19th century). But Vorsteiner by no means limits itself to BMW products; it also offers upgrade parts for Porsches, Bentleys, Ferraris, Mercedes-Benzes and, soon, Lamborghinis.

And the number of Mercedes-Benzes that Vorsteiner can modify will soon grow by one, as it readies a visual tuning package for the current (2011-and-up) CLS63 AMG.  And as you can no doubt tell from the two renderings that have been released, the transformation is pretty substantial.

  • Vorsteiner Announces the GTRS5 Package for the BMW M3

vorsteiner bmw m3 gtrs5 Vorsteiner Announces the GTRS5 Package for the BMW M3

With the current BMW M3 fast approaching the end of its life, you would think the tuning world would have quit developing new parts and pieces for it by now, instead turning its attention to the pending arrival of the fifth generation M3 (or M4, depending on the number of doors and the news source you read). Thing is, that hasn’t really been the case, at least not yet. This is probably as good an indicator as any of the E92 M3 coupe’s (and, to slightly lesser extents, the E93 cabriolet’s and E90 sedan’s) broad appeal and extraordinary performance potential.

One of the companies that’s still taking advantage of those and other positive attributes is Vorsteiner. The American firm’s latest creation, as you can see, gives fans of widebody conversions all the love they can handle (and maybe a little more), but is that all it does?

  • Vorsteiner BMW 1 Series M GTS- V Upgrades are Mild but Marvelous [w/ Video]

Vorsteiner BMW 1 Series M 1 Vorsteiner BMW 1 Series M GTS V Upgrades are Mild but Marvelous [w/ Video]

For a limited production vehicle, the BMW 1 Series M sure has gotten a lot of love from the automotive aftermarket. The small, rear-drive coupe is a pistol even in stock trim, but the examples that have been worked over by tuners look even more butch and put up even more impressive numbers. And yes, we’ve seen plenty of those over the last year or so.

But sometimes you neither want (nor can you afford) a high zoot, high content tuning package for your 1M. In cases like this, it’s good to know that American tuner Vorsteiner offers a mild but effective upgrade suite for BMW’s littlest muscle machine. So what, exactly, has been changed?

vorsteiner m3 candy cane 1 Vorsteiner BMW M3 GTRS3 “Candy Cane” is a 620hp Sugar Rush

Considering how far the current generation BMW M3 is getting up in years, you could forgive the aftermarket tuning community for starting to lose interest in the quintessential Hessian muscle car and moving on to the next big thing. But the professional car modders of the world still seem to be finding more performance hidden within the M-fortified 3 Series, so why hitch your wagon to another car’s star if you don’t have to?

Vorsteiner, a company that is very much American despite its German-sounding name, is one of the tuning firms that still believes there’s still plenty of potential in the E92 M3 that’s just waiting to be unlocked. And the fender-flared beastie seen here makes Vorsteiner’s argument all the more compelling.
