• DMC Duro is a Bolder, Badder Bentley Continental GT

Back on Monday, we brought you news of a new tuning package from Anderson Germany for the new generation Bentley Continental GT. And while the cosmetic changes were fairly restrained and tasteful (other than some unfortunate Carquest-fabulous underbody lighting), the engine upgrades definitely weren’t. Bottom line: We’d be happy to leave the accent lighting turned off as we uncork those 671 horsepower on our favorite freeway onramp.

But what about the people who speak loudly and carry a small stick? Or as it relates to this discussion, people who want a tuned Gen 2 Conti GT that places more emphasis on show than go? Well people in this position can now rejoice, for DMC is releasing its own parts and pieces for the new Bentley coupe.

  • DMC Lamborghini Gallardo SOHO Serves Up LP570-Like Looks and Performance [w/ Video]

The pre-facelift Lamborghini Gallardo (made from 2003 to 2007) may be obsolete compared to a current Gallardo or any of its competitors, but it is still very worthy of the “junior supercar” label. It’s also become relatively affordable; clean, low mileage examples can be had for comfortably under $100,000 (hey, we did say relatively affordable). And, critically, it still looks incredible, hauls ass and makes glorious, glorious noise.

But what if you want an early Gallardo with later Gallardo swagger and performance? Well, you could just save your pennies for a newer starter Lamborghini like an LP570-4 Superleggera, but considering how many millions of pennies you’d have to save to make up the difference, that would take a while. Or you could get in touch with the Lambo whisperers at DMC and get faster (but not instant) gratification.

  • The Top 10 Modified Tuner Cars of 2012

top 10 tuner cars 2012 title 640x494 The Top 10 Modified Tuner Cars of 2012

Exactly 12 months ago, we assembled a list of the 10 tuner vehicles from 2011 that really floated our proverbial boat. Privately, we didn’t think that 2012’s crop of tuned and modified cars, trucks and SUVs could top that of 2011; however – and this is a rare New Year’s Eve treat for you, boys and girls – we are happy to admit that we were wrong. This past lap of the sun has seen the automotive aftermarket assemble some of the fastest, most powerful, and most visually striking machines to ever turn wheels.

Thus, you can imagine how hard it was for us to narrow our selection down to 10. But that’s exactly what we’ve managed to do, and as you’ll see, the list covers a wide range of manufacturers, tuners, and vehicle types. Will 2013’s top tuner cars be even more amazing? We’re thinking yes. From all of us to all of you, have a happy and safe New Year.

  • DMC’s Superchaged Maserati GranCabrio Steps on Ferrari’s Toes

For virtually all of the time since it became part of the Fiat Empire in 1993, Maserati has been kept a step or two below Ferrari in areas like performance and exclusivity. Granted, there have been a few modern Maseratis that have bucked this trend (the Ferrari Enzo based MC12 chief among them), but most have been designed more for style and comfort than full-on speed and agility.

On the bright side, however, this leaves the automotive aftermarket with plenty of room to make improvements. And German tuner DMC has used just about all of that room when assembling the outrageous orange GranCabrio (known here as the GranTurismo Convertible) you see here. In fact, most Ferrari California owners should be worried.

  • DMC Lamborghini Aventador LP900 is Our New Orange Crush

dmc aventador 4 640x426 DMC Lamborghini Aventador LP900 is Our New Orange Crush

The Lamborghini Aventador carries on many of the traditions established by the brand flagships that came before it: Bold, low-slung styling. Vertically-opening doors. And a barking, mid-mounted V12 capable of propelling it to ridiculous speeds. Make no mistake, Ferruccio would approve.

But we have to wonder what exactly Signore Lamborghini would think of the many modified examples of the cars bearing his name. He’d probably recoil at the notion of people tampering with his company’s creations, but on the other hand he might find the widened performance envelopes of such tuned Lambos appealing. If nothing else, he would have a very hard time ignoring this latest creation from the German Lamborghini specialists at DMC.
