Mercedes SLS AMG Stars in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin 2010 (w/VIDEO)
The 2010 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week kicked off this week in Berlin and as always was an action packed affair. But being a car company and all, Mercedes couldn’t miss a golden opportunity to promote their new 2011 SLS AMG by teaming up with photographer phenom Nick Knight and fashion designer Gareth Pugh to create a ‘visual campaign’. Just a refresher, this new supercar has a 6.3-liter V8 engine producing 571 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, good for sprints from 0 to 62 mph in 3.7 second and a top speed of 197 mph.
“Having a vision and breathing life into it is an essential part of the Mercedes-Benz success story. Driven by a passion for design, technology and materials and an instinct for style and the spirit of the times, innovative designers develop their creations. And innovation is just as vital in fashion as it is in car design. Forward-looking design is always a combination of exceptional ideas, a personal signature and an unmistakable style – the key characteristics of Mercedes-Benz.” This statement was given by Anders Sundt Jensen, VP of Brand Communications.
The campaign has been dubbed “fashion as performance” and features the 6 feet tall supermodel Julia Stegner busting poses in a far out futuristic getup standing in front of a red Mercedes SLS AMG. Check out the video to see footage of the shoot from setup through execution.
