Mazzanti Evantra Millecavalli is an Anti-Establishment Supercar
Although Mazzanti isn’t quite ready to be mentioned in the same breath as Ferrari, Lamborghini or even Pagani, this young Italian supercar company is certainly working to build its lineup and, in turn, its credibility. In late 2012, the firm revealed the Evantra V8, a 691 horsepower beast capable of hitting 62 mph in 3.2 seconds on its way to a 217 mph terminal velocity. Those are some extreme figures, though not nearly as extreme as the ones Mazzanti is saying the Evantra Millecavalli can achieve.
Considering the last part of the name translates to “thousand horses,” it shouldn’t be surprising that the company claims the 7.2L twin-turbo V8 is pumping out 1,000 metric horsepower (986 on the SAE scale) and more than 885 lb.-ft of torque. Mazzanti says the 0-62 mph time is a mere 2.7 seconds, while top speed rises to 250 mph. And thanks to enhanced aerodynamics relative to the Evantra V8 and standard carbon-ceramic brakes, the 25 lucky owners of an Evantra Millecavalli will have a decent chance of keeping this road rocket under control.
